In today's world, there are few places where we feel comfortable consuming water directly from a natural source.  We have become so accustomed to drinking water from bottles, or making sure it is purified before taking a sip, due to the pollution and contaminants surrounding us.  In most areas, it would be unimaginable to walk up to a river, stream or lake, and scoop up a cup of fresh water to drink - but this is exactly what we do on the Golden Peninsula.

The water sources on the Golden Peninsula are untouched by human toxins and are frozen for the better part of each year, eliminating the risk of harmful bacteria.  The freedom of simply bending down and filling up your canteen when you are thirsty during your hike is just one of the ways that your trip to the Golden Peninsula will bring you back to nature as it should be!
